Original Artworks at Annual Art Auction

The Blue Mountains Cultural Centre brings artistic excellence to the mountains for the enjoyment of visitors and locals alike. Exhibitions from established and emerging Blue Mountains artists sit along side touring exhibitions by artists of calibre such as Brett Whitely and Francisco de Goya. So head out this Friday, 24th July, to get your hands on some original artworks for a great price at the Blue Mountains Cultural Centre’s Collector’s Edition 2# silent auction.

Now in its 2nd year, the auction provides an opportunity for art lover’s to start or add to their own art collection while supporting the Blue Mountains Cultural Centre. 80 artworks by prominent artists including Joan Ross, James Blackwell, Locust Jones and more will be for sale through silent auction. Blue Mountains Art Gallery

Registrations to bid are currently open, however buyers can also register on the closing auction night. The event is free from 6pm for a 6:30pm start with a cash bar.

Afterwards visitors have a plethora of dining options along Katoomba Street, from the hearty meals of the Art Deco Avalon Restaurant to light and zesty Malaysian there are many options to choose from.

So if you feel like having someone else cook this Friday night buying some art before you head out to dinner could tie in nicely.

However, if you miss the art auction event don’t despair, as the Collector’s Edition 2# exhibition runs until the end of the weekend, July 26th.  With the permanent Blue Mountains World Heritage Interpretive exhibition a drawcard for many visitors, the Blue Mountains Cultural Centre also has a café with delectable sweet treats and great coffee and teas on offer, and tasty lunch options for you to fill your belly.Blue Mountains Cultural Centre Cafe

Make a day trip from Bilpin Springs Lodge and get in touch with nature and the beauty of the mountains at Scenic World, mix it up with art and lunch at the Blue Mountains Cultural Centre cafe, a spot of shopping in the along Katoomba Street (including some exciting new ‘pop-up’ shops) and a stop at the fabulous new Katoomba Street Art Walk on your way back before dinner.

Relax in front of the fire back at the lodge before doing it all again on Sunday.
