Get out the city heat and escape to the fresh air of the Blue Mountains these school holidays. Let the kids roam free and stretch their legs while you sit back on the deck at the lodge and listen to the laughter and birdsong. Only 90 minutes drive from Sydney, you can do all that and more at a reasonable price. What’s on in the Blue Mountains this summer?

This January long weekend you can head to the Carrington Hotel in Katoomba for the popular ‘Wines of the West’ festival.

At this historical location, meet growers from the Central West of NSW - Mudgee, Orange and further afield. Have their cellar door come to you all in the one place.

Grab yourself some fine wines, and enjoy some produce with a ‘producers’ tasting plate on the side, or order lunch from the café for a heartier meal.

Make a day trip of it and visit the Blue Mountains Cultural Centre just next door and see the World Heritage Exhibition as well as an ever-changing array of fabulous art exhibitions.

The famous Three Sisters are just down the road at Echo Point, with newly refurbished walkways and lookouts.

Then head back to Bilpin Springs Lodge, taste your new wines on the deck and escape from it all.
