Horse Riding in the Blue Mountains
Horse Riding in the Blue Mountains
There's no horseriding at Bilpin Country Lodge. We do recommend a variety of locations in Hawkesbury/Blue Mtns for horse riding. Please give these places a call or lookup online. We do have a lovely Shetland pony named Charlie Brown here at the lodge who's always happy for a pat and being fed a biscuit of hay by our guests.
Experiencing the wonder of the Blue Mountains by horseback is unique and takes visitors to places not frequented by many on foot. The Megalong Valley is a must-see part of the mountains with breathtaking cliff lines and vistas. There are a number of places providing horse-riding experiences to suit your level of riding experience (or lack thereof!).
A one-hour drive from Bilpin Country Lodge, make a trip to the Megalong Valley for a day trip. Stop in Blackheath village for a stroll and light brunch at one of the many café’s before making your descent into the Megalong Valley. Afternoon tea at one of the many cafés in Katoomba and a visit to the Three Sisters would make a day complete before the drive home, either to cosy Bilpin or the big smoke.
We have listed some of the Megalong Valley horse riding options below:
Centennial Glen Stables has a variety of horse riding experiences from short introductions, to full day affairs.

Lunch not included in the fee. Bring a picnic or buy lunch at the adjoining Megalong Valley Tearooms. Post lunch, riders return through bushland, dirt tracks and farmland to the stables.
All Day Horsemanship and Riding Experience.

Sulky Rides and Sulky Driving.
After some instruction, you are the one with the reins. Prices are per sulky, and times range from 1hr – 2 hr rides. Picnics can be taken along, and there are opportunities to photograph the surrounding landscape and wildlife more easily than from horseback.
